In the news.....
Now we are wrapping up science and writing with a final project. The studen'ts final project is a research essay on an animal, along with the student's choice of a power point slide show, or a diorama. The project guidelines have been issued to both Mr. Moynihan's and our class. I have included some links that will help students to research. There are also some new dates on the calendar for the end of may, and for June.
We are continuing to study fractions, decimals and percents in math, and we are now on chapter 8. Each lesson that the students get, they recieve a refresher page that day or night for homework. It is marked with an R, and stored in their binders. In the morning for AM work, we have started to review geometry terms. The R page for those lessons are marked R6- ( and then the number of the lesson in chapter 6).
Some students may want to stay after school on a Tuesday to get extra help in math, or in science, or any other subject. This is a good day for me to be able to stay intil 4:00. Students just need to bring in a note in the morning. In years past I have had students form study groups together in the classroom after school on Tuesdays before a science test. Everyone brought snack, and we reviewed and practiced answering the questions from the study guide together, and played games.
